18. 1898 – Jakob Skrobanek
Born around 1835, he was a merchant and later a banker, and the owner of a tenement house on the Town Square. In 1867 he was elected to the Town Council as a deputy member, in 1873 as a member and a councillor, and then sat on the Council for an unbroken period of over 20 years. In 1875 he was elected mayor of Cieszyn, which office he held for almost a year following the (temporary) resignation of Johann Demel. He was later active in many committees of the Town Council, of which he was a member until 1894. He died in 1910.
He was awarded honorary citizenship of Cieszyn on the same day and with the same grounds as J. Hoschek.
