25. 1910 – Moritz Rohrmann
He was born in Vienna in 1834, the owner of property in Dolní Bludovice. He entered the District Sejm in Opava for the first time in 1870, giving up his mandate in 1883. He was also a member of local and district educational policy-making groups, and at the same time giving financial support to German educational associations in Austrian Silesia. He died in 1920.
He was awarded with the title of honorary citizen of Cieszyn on the strength of a resolution of the Town Council in Cieszyn of 21 February 1910 and received his diploma from a delegation of the municipal authorities on 12 July. Rohrmann’s work in his municipality and in the District Sejm and his charitable work, particularly for the associations; Deutsche Schutz-verein, Nordmark and Deutsche Schulverein, were mentioned in support of the award. His financial contributions to the building of the children’s hospital in Cieszyn founded by Countess Thun-Hohenstein, and his gift of 300,000 crowns for Schulverein were also mentioned.
