26. Wacław II (Wenceslas II) * 1488/1496 + 17 November 1524
He was the son of Kazimierz II and Joanna, the daughter of Wiktoryn of Podĕbrady, the Prince of Ziębice. On 1 December 1518 he married Anna (* 5 May 1487 + 7 February 1539), the daughter of the Margrave of Brandenburg, Frederick, and Zofia Jagiellonka. Zofia’s uncle, Zygmunt I Stary of Poland was the initiator of this marriage. Wacław, although several years younger than his wife, died well before her, in 1524. Anna bore Wacław three children; the eldest one, Ludmiła, an unnamed son who died in infancy, and the youngest, a posthumous son, Wacław III Adam. After the death of her father-in-law, Kazimierz II, Anna acted as regent for her juvenile son in conjunction with the Margrave of Moravia, John of Pernątejn, who had been appointed guardian of Wacław III by Prince Kazimierz II. In documents from the Duchy's archives between the years 1528 to 1537 Anna is referred to as the Margravine of Brandenburg and Princess of Cieszyn.
