3. Wiola Elżbieta (Viola Elizabeth) * c.1291 + 1317
The daughter of Prince Mieszko I. She married Vaclav III, the son of the King of Bohemia, Vaclav II (in spite of strong protests by the Bohemian upper nobility) on 5 October 1305. This was a huge distinction for the relatively insignificant Cieszyn princes and linked them with the Prague court for a century. From the point of view of the Bohemian nobility it was detrimental to the king. The last of the Přemyslids clearly wanted to have free passage to Cracow, bearing in mind that Vaclav II had been crowned King of Poland a short while previously, while at the same time Władysław Łokietek had again begun attempts to gain the Polish crown. The marriage was without issue which meant the dying out of the main Přemyslid line in Bohemia. After the murder of Vaclav III in Olomouc on 4 August 1306 Elżbieta remained in Moravia. In 1316 she married Peter of Rožemberk, the union once again being childless. She died the following year in 1317.
