7. 1869 – Father Anton Helm
He was a Catholic priest, born in 1786 in Bravantice in Opavian Silesia. From 1814 he worked as a priest in the Austrian part of the Breslau (Wrocław) Diocese, and from 1832 was the rector in Strumień. In 1850 he was appointed Vicar General for the Austrian part of the Breslau Diocese, and in 1855 he was rector and dean of Cieszyn. He held many other church positions and in 1864 he was elected a member of the Town Council in Cieszyn. Apart from that he belonged to K.k. mahr. schl. Gesellschaft zur Beföderung des Ackerbaues, der Natur- und Landeskunde in Brno. He died on 1872.
In 1869 Father A. Helm celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of his ordination, on which occasion the Pope appointed him prelate and apostolical prothonotary. For the same reason he was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Cieszyn by the Town Council on 1 September, after a proposal by E. Flooh. The day before the anniversary the town authorities organised a torch lit procession with music.
