The castle park with the Piast Tower in the background
The castle park with the Piast Tower in the background - a relic of the medieval residence of the Cieszyn dukes. This Gothic donjon was built at the turn of the XlVth and XVth century within the upper castle, as a place of defence. From 1838-1840, the castle was reconstructed by Archduke Charles Habsburg, a part of the hill was levelled; and a park with a romantic landscape was created.
