The crossroads between the Square of Holy Cross, Rose street and Arch. Stephana street which during the first world war was namedcalled after a named after the heir to the throne Charles Francis Joseph (who later became the emperor Charles I). After the house, with so called devil's arcades, had been destroyed, Karl Gorgosch built both a large city tenement-house in 1912 with its own shop which specialized in selling the ironware, as well as Emil Kürti's clothes shop.
