The greatest demand for silver
and the presence of a lot of goldsmith’s workshops, were connected with the need to embellish Cieszyn and Jablonkov costume with silver jewellery. As early as in the second half of the 18th century, rich country-folk complemented their festive clothes with buttons, big buttons, belts, plastrons, and clasps, i.e. hoczki. The traditional goldsmithery has survived until today, beautiful jewellery can be bought modeled after the old goods, from Cieszyn goldsmiths.
