was Alojzy Kaufmann, born in Widnawa in 1772. He was a syndic and the mayor of Cieszyn from 1814 until his death in 1847. During his time in office the municipal finances were healed, the first municipal investments were undertaken, and also community and social life originated, which he supported personally, being a keen theatre-goer. Kaufmann is also the author of a monument, the four-volume Chronicles of Cieszyn town.
