The oldest town in Poland
would be Cieszyn if the legend is to be believed which says that it was founded in 810 by three sons of the Polish Prince Leszek III, namely: Bolko, Leszko, and Cieszko. While rejoicing over their reunion at the spring, they founded a town and gave it the name of Cieszyn. In the place of the legendary meeting there is a well called The Well of The Three Brothers. The first mention of the well comes from 1434, and it belonged to the Dominican Friars. The townspeople’s brewery used the well’s water until the 19th century.
