The various parts of Mill-Race street
The various parts of Mill-Race street. The picturesque one-storeyed houses were inhabited by weavers, drapers, leather-dressers and hammermen who all took advantage of the stream water set up on Mill-Race street in the XVIIth century. The enchantment of this place, situation of the houses at water-level and the many small bridges and foot-bridges were the reason for calling this part of town the “Cieszyn Venice".
