The Chestnut Park
The park was created to accompany the Austrian army barracks that were built at the end of the XIXth cent. Its name relates to the dominant species that grows here, namely, horse-chestnut. At present the main function of the park is recreational. On the basis of the arrangement of the trees (in lanes) one can re-create the former course of the paths. A gorgeous Canadian poplar (Populus xeuramericana), the biggest tree in the park and a monument of nature, is worth paying attention to.
